Upper corner backs too short.
« Thread started on: Apr 21st, 2012, 10:38am »
I have designed my uppers to all be 30" in height, using 5/8" sheet material. The problem is that the two (inside) corner cabs "box part" list and "cut" list show the backs as being 29 3/8" high when all the sides are the actual 30". All other upper cabs show the sides and backs as being a uniform 30" high which is what I want so I can't figure out why there is 5/8" inches missing on the height of the backs for both upper corner cabs. I have preset the height in "upper standards" at 30". I only noticed this after all the parts have been cut and am now in the process of assembly...of course I realize that I need to cut new parts with the correct height however I'd like to figure out what the problem is before I do the next kitchen...is it something I'm doing incorrectly or is it a glitch in the prog?....thanks....T

Hi Rob....thanks for the quick reply. I can't however, figure out what the reason is for running the bottoms all the way to the wall when all other upper cabs don't require this. Can you explain?
I tried a "dry run" of running the bottom all the way to the wall however this does not jive with the dimensions provided by CP, specifically the width of the door. As you can see by the dimensions provided by CP, my door is 16 7/8 wide. If I run the bottom to the wall to accommodate the 29 3/8" backs, the door will end up narrower, to 16" or so. The sides need to stay at 12" to match the depth of the other cabs. Either way one of the dimensions, either the door's or the back's (or other), ends up being out of whack. Is there a way to by-pass this to allow CP to provide the back height equal to the sides?....if not, I would think that my only option is to A) remember to manually add the material thickness to the height of the backs when cutting-out the parts or; B) replace the Upper Corner cab by the Lazy Susan cab (which provides backs at equal heights as sides) when creating my kitchens where Upper Corner cabs are required.
Please advise if I'm on the right track or out-to-lunch on this.....any suggestion is appreciated....thanks again.....T
