door standards
« Thread started on: Apr 12th, 2016, 08:45am »
When using full overlay doors, I added special overlays to size my doors properly. I use the same faceframe width so the overlay on mid rails and mid stiles is different from the left, right , top and bottom. My problem is when I go to another job that has half inch overlay doors, my door list prints out incorrectly. Not only do you have to go to the general standards, if special overlay is clicked in the door standards, your door list will be wrong. So I went into the door standards and under special overlay, i added half inch to all the possibilities. Now, if I forget to go to door standards, my door list will print out properly.

I don't understand. If the door settings are correct for one type of construction how can they be correct for the other type?
If it were me I would set standards #1 for one type and standards #2 for the other. Name one "full overlay" and the other "1/2 overlay". That way you can open any of the standards windows and switch between the two without having to change any of the individual values.

That works, but for full overlay doors, the overlay for the center rails and stiles is different than the end rails and stiles. Then you must click the button for special overlay. Then, when you go to a different job thats half inch overlay, the special overlay button is still on. If you print out door sizes, they come out wrong. This is just a way to override the special overlay button.
