xx Importing wood images into Kerky? White lacquer?
« Thread started on: May 12th, 2014, 7:56pm »

Hi guys,
I'm trying to learn how I can get better matching wood samples to select from when using Kerkythea. Is this something relatively easy to do for a non-computer wiz?

Also, I can't seem to find a nice way of doing white or colored lacquered cabinets in Kerky. I have done them by selecting plastic and then choosing an off white color but it makes for a really poor rendering.

I'm losing jobs because the quality of my renderings isn't as good as the next guys and am looking at different ideas to try and improve my renderings.

I do it the same way and I think it comes out OK.
This is a rendering for a bath cab we just built.

Yours looks really good. I'd be happy to achieve that. My renderings look washed out by comparison. Here is a quick example I drew up to show what I mean. Do you think it has to do with not putting in any lighting? If so, do you add the lighting in cab planner or kerky?

I use the lights in cabinet planner.
All I did was read what was on the cabinet planner web site about Kerky and kind of learn as I go.
Here is one from a few years ago

Thanks for sticking with me while I figure this out. The lighting options really help it come alive. Here's where I've managed to get it so far.

That white bar on the left of the lazy susan base is a gap in the cabinet between the case gable and the front door. Haven't figured out how to make it go away. Moderator Rob, do you have any ideas?
