3D Renderings
Post by Abu on May 23rd, 2011, 5:59pm
Rob,
Finally, after all of this time, I've gotten around to experimenting with the Kerkythea program.
It all works well for me but I can't get my renderings to come out as clear and as life-like as the samples you've provided.
If you or anyone else can offer suggestions on how to maximize the clarity I'd would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
Tony

Hard to speculate without seeing what you're getting. What render setting are you using?
For the ones I've done I used #19, metropelous light transport, (whatever that means). You need to let it run for quite a while for it to get to a presentable rendering. The one on the home page of the website I let run over night.

Okay, that's good to know.
I've been following the instructions you provided on the site and was using a #6 rendering. Then I ran a #19 setting up to 200 lines.
I guess I'll try the #19 again and also let it run overnight.
Thanks Rob!!

Its been a while since I did any playing with Kerky but one thing I remeber is that using a setting like #6 was good mostly for a quick rendering to make sure you have the lighting, textures, camera angle and such correct. Once you have it the way you like it, then use the slower, more accurate settings.
Also, the rendering screen size setting will affect how long the rendering will take. A 500x500 scene will render a lot faster than a 1024x768

Thanks again Rob for the input.
I'll keep experimenting. I'm mostly encouraged by the info needed to render the life-like images!!
