Custom Shelf location
« Thread started on: May 21st, 2012, 11:05am »
Newbie to the program. I'm drawing a built-in closet using 4 adjoined tall 1-opening cabinets. I first tried 2 shelves per cabinet but they were evenly spaced. I need them to be located 12" from the top and bottom of each cab in order to leave space between for the closet rod. So then I specified 0 shelves. I then added a shelf from the misc list at 12" from the top and 12" from the bottom of the cabinets. I also added a closet rod. These additions can be seen through the doors in the elevation view and from above in the floorplan view, but are not visible in the 3d image. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Glass doors can be a bit tricky with the program. One thing that would help in the 3d is if you create the shelves first (a lower unit #). That way when the 3d renders the glass it knows that the shelf is behind the glass. This is more of an OpenGL glitch that a problem with the program.
In this photo the left cabinet is #1, the shelf is #2 and the right cabinet is #3. You can see that the shelf shows in #3 because it was already there when it was rendered.
