xx Raised panel sizes
« Thread started on: Apr 8th, 2015, 7:54pm »

I have just built my first cabinet using CP. Everything was fine except for the size or my raised panels. The rails and stiles are the correct size but the raised panels themselves are 3/4 inch narrow and 1/8 inch short. I'm guessing it's a setting I missed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ouch!

Do you have anything entered in the panel size adjustments in the Door Standards window? That is the only place where I can think they would be off by different amounts.

What door type was it?

I have 0.125 in both the width and height. I have 2.5 inch rails and stiles, .375 cutter depth, .375 tenon length, 0.5 overlay and 0.125 gap between paired doors.

Normally you don't want to enter anything for the door tenon length. It adds an extra length to the tenon for non-normal door construction. Having it set to .375 without making the tenon pockets deeper in the stiles would account for the panel appearing to be short. But then your door frame should be .75 too wide.

Thanks, that makes sense. I realized this morning that the panels were right but the rails were too long.
