Printing
Post by Scooter on Nov 25th, 2013, 5:46pm

For some reason when I select printer from the program neither one of my printers are listed. I use PDF to view but when I want to print I don't want to have to print through PDF. I select File, then Select Printer but only thing that shows up is the PDF Program. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The program should list all installed printers on computer. It does remove some from the list if their name includes the word "fax", "quick"(as in quicken) or "intuit".

It doesn't include ones with fax because the program doesn't work with fax machines. Quick & intuit are removed because they probably refer to pdf creators that are used by Quicken and are generally not accessible by users.

What are the names of your printers and are they properly installed? If they are installed correctly they should show in your computer's Control Panel.

The printers are installed correctly. Both of them are Epsons. My printers are showing up on all my computers, total 4. Just not showing up in CP under File and select printer. None of them are faxes.

Are these connected wirelessly? If so they probably won't work with the program. It needs the printer connected directly to the computer.

One is wireless, the one I have the program on. If the printer shows up on my wireless computer why does the program not see it?

I'm not real sure. The program uses Windows EnumPrinters function which is supposed to return a list of all installed printers.

I just took a quick look at the documentation and didn't see any reason for it not to work.

if you have the printer set as the computer's default printer then the program will use it if none are selected through the program.

I'm going to check everything again tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know if I solve the problem. Thanks.
