Finished ends VS unfinished ends
Post by Scooter on Nov 16th, 2013, 1:20pm
Example:
12" deep upper cabinet. 3/4" FF. Side of cabinet with finished end should measure 11 1/4" deep and unfinished side should measure 11" deep. I rabbit my finished end to hide the 1/4" back on finished side. Also will use this method on base cabinets. Not applying a raised panel end.
My question is will the program allow me to do this or will I have to edit my cut list?
Thanks

If you use type 2 uppers (upper standards) it will adjust the side depth like this. But, with the type 2 uppers it runs the bottom through on un-finished sides and shortens that side so it sit on top of the bottom.
The bases don't have this option.

Thanks Rob. Even though this program has some limitations, it's amazing how much this program can do for the money. Thanks!

Rob,
The program seems not to take into consideration the 'bottom lip' setting when using 'upper cabinet type 2'.
I like my bottom rail to extend 1/4" above the box bottom. When using scribe on boths sides I get 28.5" sides. I assume that the top of the sides are located at the top of the face frame. Using a 1-1/2" bottom rail I should have 28.75" sides.
Yes, it is easy to change in the 'adjustments', but I would like to understand the logic in the program
