Is there a good way??
Post by NickB on Nov 15th, 2010, 6:19pm

I am doing a job that has a bunch of shelves/cubby boxes combined and I drew it with shelves as the shelving parts and used upper fillers as the upright parts but it is not giving me what I need for a material list.
How or what can I use to make my full depth uprights?

Also is there a way to make the whole shelf thicker not just the nosing?

Hope this made sence!
Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

When I draw cubby boxes I always use a 1 opening upper, delete the door and then put in the number of shelves that I want in the opening. It figures my sides, tops, bottoms, etc. just like a std cabinet. With some tweaking I can get it to look pretty good in the 3D images.
I believe the shelf thickness is tied to the cabinet box setting in the General Standards. I played around with it and it makes the shelf material thickness whatever the Cabinet Box thickness is set to. I could not get it to change the thickness of just the shelf by itself. Someone else might know how, but I don't.
Wish you the best on the project.
