Cabinet Side Material
« Thread started on: Nov 4th, 2009, 11:38am »
What's everyone using? I was thinking of 3/4 ply for the bases if I go with the concrete counters. But what about the uppers? If I go with a 1/2 inch material what would you recommend be the best way to attach the face frames. I was thinking possibly pocket holes and glue.

I use 1/2" material all the time with the sides, top and bottom dado'd 1/4" into the face frame. I'll "toenail" 3/4" staples through the sides into the face frames so the cabinets don't have to be clamped. I'll staple from the outside if it's a hidden side or on the inside of the cabinet that has a finished end. The staples are pretty much hidden on the inside by the face frames.
