Stain Colors
Post by tbelk34 on Oct 3rd, 2011, 6:37pm
I'm new to the forum but I knew this was the place to come for help.
Where do I find the Post/Legs like Pete had on his drawing posted 6/13/2010?
Also where do I find the different stain colors? Can only find a regular color chart.
Thanks, Tommy

Pete,
I upgraded today, but I still don't have any stain colors.
I only have regular colors found in the "Drawing Colors".
Am I looking in the wrong place?
Also I forgot to ask if there was any way to add types of wood.

To change the wood used for the 3D select "3D images" under the file menu.
To add your own images, the in-program help file topic "Viewing 3D models" explains it as follows:
Adding your own images:
If you would like to add your own images they need to be 24 bit bitmaps, resized to 256x256 and with the grain going up & down. Simply place the image in the '3d textures' folder which can be found in the Cabinet Planner folder in your Program files. In doing this you may notice that the appliance images all begin with 'xxx '. This is to keep the from showing along with the standard images.

You can take any of the Osborne wood files and turn them into bitmap files using Adobe Illustrator. Open them up in Illustrator, in the file format you saved them to your computer in and then shrink the size of them and when you save it or want to turn it into a Bitmap, simply hit export and select the Bitmap file format.
I make AutoCAD files this way to when needed.

Maybe people that are good at all the computer stuff and have the programs that make it easier can share their 3D files.
Maybe we can get a file share page/link added to the forum.
