Was drawing wall cabinets with flat trim board from top of cabinet to ceiling with crown on top . Used a valance to do this but can't get the ends. Is there a better way to do this.

Yes, you can use the Upper Filler with its height set to zero to place trim anywhere needed. When it's height is set to zero it will not be included in the material lists.
