It sometimes called poor mans cherry. It is like cherry but more brownish in color. Very nice to work with. Pre washing helps with blotch. It is getting expensive here in Minnesota, out west it is Cheaper in price. Very knotty unless you get clear. It use to be a tree they cut down and trashed just to Get to good trees. Takes stain nice. My son in Idaho Uses it a lot.
