Angled Island
« Thread started on: Nov 17th, 2014, 08:42am » |

Is there an easy way to make an island, basically like 3 sides of a stop sign....a cabinet with two cabinets at 45 degrees with the faceframes connected. The backs of the cabinets would obviously have space that would be covered by a raised panel across the entire back. I've been moving walls around and it's all trial and error the way I"m trying.

I guess what would make this easy is placing the front of the cabinets on the wall instead of the backs...is that possible??
And, one other thing. If cabinets could be moved in the floor plan view to line up the faceframes from looking from above them it would be much easier to line them up.

I'm not visualizing what you are trying to do. Can you post a photo or drawing?

Yes, set the "from wall" to a negative number. For a 24" cabinet you would set it to -24"

Don't have a clue if this pic will show up. Could you let me know of a better way to add a photo?

Nope that won't work for the image.
Take a look at the first thread under the Projects section. That explains how to post an image on this (or any) forum.

Thanks Rob. I think you solved my problem with placing the front of the cabs on the wall. Will there be an update which will allow you to move cabinets in the floor plan view? That would make it nice to be able to see them at once and tweek them as needed.

Probably not. Moving them in the elevation view is fairly easy but in the floor plan view the wall angles would make it difficult to slide them around.
