xx frameless euro cabs
« Thread started on: Feb 14th, 2011, 6:01pm »

ok I'm trying to do a couple of things so here they are

first, is there a way to trick the program into making the bottom as deep as the sides ,with the sides being the cabinet height ,but i want to dado the back .25 into the sides and bottom. I can get the backs right just not the cabinet parts, and the screw strips will be behind the back .so the face of the back will be recessed 1", the screw srtips are messed up to
second, I want to build the upper boxes useing french cleat so i need the same as well
I've messed with it long enough to get it to produce a good master list for doors and drawer fronts useing the special overlay boxes

Ron have you ever thought about making a instruction manual for the euro style cabs it would be awesome to be able to print it out and have it in front of me....overlay examples, box parts , etc
and one more thing is that when i put a scribe on the box the way it says to it comes out wrong every time i found it easier to just shrink the box the scribe amount and do it that way

whew ! sorry guys just trying to make the doughnuts wink

The "box to face frame dado depth" settings can be used to adjust the depths of the sides, top and bottom, even if you don't have face frames.

Can you be more specific?

I will have to look at the scribe on frameless cabinets. I thought it was working properly.

i did try the dado setting but i had no luck , im sure its user error , and the scribes i mentioned are as followed:
set the left stile for .5 more on the cab right?when i do it the doors come out wrong the overlay probably has something to do with it, i use this for the special overlay option
stiles:0.6875
middle stiles:0.3125
top rail:.5
middle rail:0.3125
bottom rail:0.75
works great

When you changed the face frame dado depth did you press the "Save and apply to current job" button? Or the "Save as default"?

I haven't yet had a change to check on the frameless scribe. Are you increasing the stile width and settting the scribe to the same amount as you increase the stile width?

You're not being a thorn in my side but I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for.

Is the parts list you posted what you want the parts to be or is it what the program is giving you? It looks like the bottom depth is the same as the sides. Is that what you want?

Do you have a value entered for the "Inset back depth"? If so, this will decrease the bottom depth by that amount. To correct for this, open the General Standards and enter that amount in the "Bottom" setting for the "Box to face frame dado depth". (I just checked and you can press either of the save buttons and it will be applied)

There isn't a setting to change the length of just the stretchers. The dado depth will effect the length of them but it also changes the length of the tops & bottoms.

i want the bottom to be 24 X 38.5 , no dado on the bottom to the sides , just the 1/4" back into the sides and bottom . The bottom and the strechers need to be the same and yes this is the list CP came up with

Ok, what do you have the dado depth set to? It seems like it is at 1/4". That would be why the bottom length is 1/2" too long.

Setting it to zero will give you 38 1/2" bottom and stretchers, for a 40" cabinet with 3/4" material and no scribe.
