Copy Files - DavB - 01-26-2021

Is there a way to copy a file, so as to make changes to it without losing the original?  Often I get a design created, then want to give my customers options that are slightly different from the original.  Plus I'd like to make my own backups.
Thanks,
DB

Dave,

I had this need to. Here's what you need to do to copy a file.

Step 1. Open cabinet planer
Step 2. Click File, the Open
Step 3. A file window opens. Look towards the top of that window and look for an address bar that has a yellow folder followed by <<AppData  > Roaming  >  Cabinet Planner
Step 4. Click once on the yellow folder just to the left of the "app data"
Step 5. Step four should have revealed the full address of the file location. For me it is "C:\Users\ngrep\AppData\Roaming\Cabinet Planner"
Step 6. Select the address and hit "Ctrl + C"  (Assuming windows)
Step 7. Hit cancel on the cabinet planer open window.
Step 8. Open a file browser window. Place curser in address bar. and hit "Ctrl + V" to past the copied address in there
Step 9. Hit return!
Step 10. Find your desired file in the list and right click on it. (You are looking for a file with and extension of .cpdat)
Step 11. In the list from the right click, choose copy
Step 12. Left click anywhere in the white clear zone of the file window and choose paste.
Boom! That makes your copy.
Step 13. Go back to cabinet planner and choose open and navigate to that file to make changes.
