  Blind Corners
Posted by: Jerry C - 10-26-2019, 10:26 PM - Forum: Cabinet Planner - No Replies

After setting the general standards and lower standards, the side of the cabinet opposite the Blind corner, specs out the same as the blind side. For my normal Face Frame construction and box construction it should be the same as all the rest of the cabinets to allow for the 1/4" dado in the face frame. Am I missing something? All the normal bases and drawer units are correct, just the blinds I'm having issues with! Any suggestions

Hi, I made upper cabinet and in the calculation window, selecting cabinet boxes and box material panel layout.
It only give both sides and the top, where is the bottom and would this effect the price of the cabinet.
Thank you

  Add New Appliances?
Posted by: AFVet1982 - 05-21-2019, 02:26 AM - Forum: Cabinet Planner - No Replies

Greetings, I'm a new user and I purchased the Cabinet Planner software to help me design my basement bar.  Once I went through a few iterations of create/draw a cabinet, place it, etc., I gained some confidence and I've begun to like using the program.

With that said, I've got a few questions, and if the community doesn't have an answer or workaround, I'll probably contact the publisher.  So, here goes:

  1. Can the program produce pdf files of drawings?  I looked for additional file suffixes in the "Save Picture" function, but only saw "jpeg" listed.
  2. Is there a way to add new or different appliances?  I'm going to have a kegerator and icemaker in my bar and I'd like to try and be able to accurately account for and depict them in the plans and drawings.
  3. Is there a way to create a cabinet that does not have a face/front?  I looked through the instructions a couple of times, but could not locate anything explicitly covering this.  Again, I want to show all the appliances as accurately as possible in the drawings, right now I'm just showing two two-door cabinets for the space that will be occupied by the four appliances (kegerator, icemaker, wine/beverage chiller and bar fridge -- the last two are represented by generic refrigerators in the drawings) I'll have in my bar.
  4. Is there a way to plan for the tap tower in a kegerator or similar appliance features that will protrude through the countertop?  I could probably create a "sink" as a placeholder with the dimensions, but would prefer to find or figure out a way to do this using the program.
  5. Does the program create things like rails to hang glassware from?  I'm specifically referring to the hanging "rails" (for lack of a better term) used to hang things like martini glasses and other stemware by their base.
I think the program is very functional, and would easily pay for itself when purchased by a professional cabinetmaker or similar contractor.  As far as I'm concerned, it's paid for itself by getting me away from having to have a professional shop design & build the bar cabinets.

Any insight or thoughts that anyone might care to offer are welcome.  Thanks.

Hello,
I'm Butch from Unalaska, Alaska. Part time wood worker. I used Cabinet Planner to remodel full kitchen and two bathrooms. Great Program with lots of features for a reasonable price. I really enjoyed the old forum. This new forum has lots of views but not many posts. Maybe others are having hard time with registration as I did. Took me 3 tries to get registered. Keep trying. Smile

Greetings all, I'm not a cabinet maker or in the construction industry, but I downloaded & purchased Cabinet Planner because I'm trying to put in a basement wet bar and 1) I don't want to pay the $$$ that some of the businesses here are asking, and 2) I'm going to used barnwood for the cabinets and bar/counter tops, and the local firms didn't seem to be flexible on just doing the frame and letting me finish it.

I do have a couple of questions about the program, and I'll post them in another thread.  Thanks.

  Farm sink base cabinet
Posted by: sodercon - 02-02-2019, 03:36 AM - Forum: Cabinet Planner - Replies (1)

When adding aa sink to my drawing I select sink from the drop down menu. Then I select "farm sink" in the cabinet editor window but I don't see it in the elevation. I did also remove the drawer fronts from this cabinet, in the editor. I've tried adjusting the distance of the sink off the wall. I'm now wondering if it's going to look how I thought. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Derek
